Switching to electric doesn't require a leap of faith

🚗

The model question

"Which EV actually fits my life and budget?" There are over 150 models available in the UK now, with another 50 arriving in 2026, from £5k to £100k+ new. Finding the right one takes work - or a good tool.

💷

The cost question

"Will I actually save money, or is that just what EV owners tell themselves?" Everyone's situation is different: your mileage, your tariff, your commute but the savings are there.

🔌

The charging question

"I don't have a driveway - is it even possible?" Home charging is ideal, but it's not the only option. The UK public charging network has grown massively, from lamp-post chargers on the street to rapid chargers at supermarkets.

Good to know

Things worth knowing before you switch

Home charging

Overnight charging is cheaper than you think

On a dedicated EV tariff — like Octopus Go or EDF GoElectric — charging a 60kWh battery overnight costs around £4–6. That's roughly 200 miles of driving for less than a tenth of what you'd pay to fill a petrol tank. Most EV owners plug in at home overnight and start every day with a full charge.

Running costs

The fuel saving is the headline but it's not the only one

With far fewer moving parts, no oil changes, no timing belt, no exhaust system — EVs are simpler and cheaper to maintain.

Range

They go further than you think

Every EV in our database comfortably covers the average UK daily commute — and then some. Our AI Vehicle Scanner recommends EVs based on how you actually drive, so if your current car is built for long distances, your recommendations will be too.

Buying

The second-hand market has quietly become excellent

With millions of EVs on the UK roads now, the second hand market goes from strength to strength. In-app recommendations will help you navigate how to get best value & assess for red-flags. Whether you're looking to find a new family car or a city-runner.

Charging network

The UK network is bigger than you think

The UK now has over 115,000 public charge connectors, with rapid chargers at motorway services roughly every 25–30 miles on major routes. The network grew 19% in 2025 alone — and it's still accelerating.
